Imagine the finish line is a victory: from VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) to Decisions leading to satisfied Outcomes.
I practice and teach the protocol design by Prof J.H Young on Mindfulness-based Strategic Awareness Training (MBSAT 2.0), which focuses on the neuroscience approach in free energy and active Inference for skillful decision-making. This 8-week course primarily focuses on experimental learning. It aims to increase flourishing levels by making wise, strategic decisions, minimising our quota of prediction errors and taking skillful actions that don’t harm ourselves, others and the environment. By reducing chaotic responses from our body sensations, emotions, thoughts, and impulses with various practices in the course, we can constructively wrestle and channel free energy (a chaotic and potentially destructive force, like VUCA).
The more I practice and reflect on the program, the more I can embody Bayesian inference and decision-making. As famous neurosurgeon and scientist Karl J Friston suggested, “You will be able to answer Einstein’s existential questions: Is the universe friendly?”
Being the first certified trainer from Hong Kong, I will soon launch the pilot program in early 2025. Any interested party can contact me for a chat at elizabethwong@twodoors.ltd
